Five biradical (dinitroxide) molecules optimised for DNP studies have been
synthesized by UMR, fully characterized and sent to Frankfurt for measurements.
Nitroxide spin labels incorporated in proteins have been characterized to be
used as polarizer agent for the DNP experiments. EPR and relaxation measurements
on a spin-labeled protein have been performed in the monomeric unfolded state,
in oligomers and in the fibrils.
A number of different biomolecules (copper (II) protein samples, the BLUF
domain of the AppA protein, antimicrobial peptides and proteins involved in
membrane channels/ transporters) have been investigated by NMR and EPR methods
by all groups in the consortium.
